Graduated with an M.Sc. in computer science from the Université de Montréal in 1999. I spent most of my time there in the computer graphics group. My director was Pierre Poulin. During that time, I spent four months at the Imager lab in UBC, Vancouver. Before that, I completed a B.Ing. in computer engineering in which I spent three years at École Polytechnique de Montréal, and one year at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, in beautiful Switzerland.
My masters thesis was on the subject of image-based rendering; in it I explored ways to use a line-space parameterization to precompute visibility and investigated the possibility to change the illumination on objects represented by a spatial sampling of radiance using a similar line-space parameterization. Check the group's publications section and the image gallery for more details. My interest in graphics includes all forms of rendering (image-based rendering, global illumination and non-photorealistic rendering), but anything that moves also captivates me (especially dancing women). I also have an interest for audio/signal processing and in my not-so-recent past I have been studying jazz guitar in college. I have also become deeply addicted to salsa dancing.
Until recently, I was employed at discreet, where I've been developing global illumination and general rendering software and other mostly three-dimensional things in their rendering group. Since then, I have become a freelance consultant. Somehow, if you mention the word "Python" many times in the same sentence, my eyes blink and light up and my heart beats a little bit faster.
I have moved all the material which used to be on this website to my company website. You can now find all about my software and web publishing projects at: http://furius.ca.
For the most part, you should be redirected automatically to the right place but if for some reason it doesn't work, search in furius.ca for the document you requested.
