My previous employments
Taarna Studios
Famous for its Tony de Peltrie, the first short film starring a
synthetic actor, who recalls nostalgically his past glory as a pianist.
Taarna is now working on the finishing touches to its next short, The
Boxer, which should again, we all hope, go down in computer graphics
history as Tony did in 1985. You can see the web page of Digits
'n Art , a division of Taarna, where you can see a few of The Boxer's
characters. Here are links to two of them:
Cirano
Or, for the neophytes, le Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse
des organisations (Inter-university research center in analysis of organisations,
roughly). I have worked there from september 96 to may 96 as an analyst.
It was an extremely useful work experience thanks to the great amount of
trust that the project leader, Robert Gérin-Lajoie, had in students
such as me... My colleagues Vincent
Trussart and David
Ostiguy were also part of this great team, which I will always
remember as one of the most motivating, competent and fun that I've ever
been a part of. Some links:
Others
Like most students, I've had various summer jobs during my B.Sc. (look
at my resume for further details).
Here are links to some places I've worked at, in reverse chronological
order:
-
Desjardins , at the Montreal and
western Quebec federation (FMO), where I have worked first at the technical
support department in 1995 (both internal and for the affiliated financial
instutions), and then as a programmer in 1996. A lot of people who were
really fun to work with!
-
The National Library of Canada at
the informatics department (in 1994; I was doing some backup tape management
for the Amicus system and also the maintenance of the high-speed
printers which were spewing out thousands of pages per day of JCL reports).
It is there that I have met my girlfriend Stéphanie Grenier, which
I've been living with ever since.
-
Industry Canada , at the Corporate
Records Branch, during the summers of 1993 et 1992. There were a few fun
people, which made the rest almost tolerable. No further comments. :-)
