Vera Danyluk
Mayor of Town of
Mount Royal from 1987 to
1994 and from 2006 to 2009
Vera
Danyluk has been involved
for 30 years in the Town of
Mount Royal community. She
has occupied the positions
of School Commissioner at
the Sainte-Croix School
Board (1976-1982), then
Municipal Councillor of Town
of Mount Royal (1983-1987),
then Mayor of Town of Mount
Royal (1987-1994). In 1994,
she left her mayoralty post
to assume the prestigious
position of Chairman of the
Executive Committee of the
Montreal Urban Community and
CEO of this same
organization (1994-2002).
After
receiving a Teaching Diploma
at St. Joseph Teacher’s
College, Vera Danyluk
graduated from McGill
University, with a Bachelor
of Education degree. Vera
Danyluk presently sits on
the Boards of several
organizations such as the
Federation of Canadian
Municipalities where she is
Vice-Chair of the Standing
Committee for Community
Safety and Crime Prevention.
She is member of the
Agglomeration Council of
Montreal as well as being
member of the Audit
Committee of the City of
Montreal.
As
Mayor of Town of Mount
Royal, Vera Danyluk will
manage the municipality with
the same rigour as she did
in the past: with
transparency, integrity, and
accountability. Her vast
experience in municipal and
regional politics is an
undeniable asset to promote
economic development of the
city and to ensure quality
services for the citizens.
Vera
Danyluk has been a resident
of the Town of Mount Royal
for 42 years together with
her husband Victor Danyluk,
former owner of Victor’s
Flower Shop and Greenhouses,
a family enterprise
established in the Town of
Mount Royal in 1923. They
have one son, Peter.

Joseph
Daoura
Joseph
Daoura is a lawyer and holds
degrees in both French and
Lebanese law as well as a
Masters Degree in private
law. He currently practices
law specializing in
litigation, contracts and
immigration.
Member
of the Advisory Board of
Revenu Québec and member of
the Québec Ministry of
Immigration and Cultural
Community Working Group,
Joseph Daoura is also Vice
President of the
Canada-Lebanon Chamber of
Commerce and Industry.
Married
and father of two children,
Joseph Daoura has been a
resident of the Town of
Mount Royal for the last 18
years. As municipal
councillor of the Town of
Mount Royal, he intends to
listen to the citizens and
to see the community remain
one of the finest
municipalities in Quebec.

Melpa Kamateros
Melpa
Kamateros is well known
within the ethnic
communities of Montreal. As
a community organizer, she
administers a non profit
organization that provides
services for women and
children in need. As a
communicator and journalist
she has also developed many
public awareness programs,
articles and educational
tools that are used by the
existing health and social
services. While at city
hall, she was vice president
of the CCU and President of
the Heritage Committe .
Married
and the mother of two
children, she holds a
Bachelor of Arts degree in
Political Science and a
post-graduate diploma in
Community Politics and the
Law from Concordia
University. Melpa Kamateros
was elected municipal city
councillor in 2005. If re-elected,
she will pursue her active
role in promoting
patrimonial and cultural
issues in the Town of Mount
Royal.

Erin Kennedy
Erin
Kennedy served as municipal
councillor from 1999 to
2001, and then again from
2006 to 2009. Office
administrator and
responsible for children’s
and youth programming at St.
Peter’s Church, she is also
president of the Business
and Professional Women’s
Club of Montreal. Resident
of the Town for 45 years,
Erin Kennedy remains
involved in the community
and acted as President of
the Mount Royal Volunteer
Centre.
Married
and mother of three children,
if elected, Erin Kennedy
intends to continue to work
for the economic development
of the Town, to promote
security measures for both
the industrial and
residential sectors and to
maintain quality services
and programming in Mount
Royal.

Minh-Diem Le Thi
A
professional electrical
engineer with a Master’s
degree in Telecommunications
from Laval University,
Minh-Diem Le Thi has solid
experience in strategic
planning and management of
technological development.
She is very involved in the
Vietnamese community,
teaching the language to
children and adults.
A
resident of the Town of
Mount Royal for 20 years,
Minh-Diem Le Thi was elected
as town councillor in 2005.
During her first mandate,
she distinguished herself in
different projects related
to the culture and heritage,
was president of the Urban
Planning Committee (CCU) and
successfully provided high
quality services, including
on-line services for
citizens (e-government).

John Miller
John
Miller is a long time
second-generation resident
of the Town of Mount Royal,
married, and the father of
two sons. His community
involvement is impressive:
municipal councillor for 14
years, former President of
the Municipal Association of
Mount Royal, co-President of
Défusion Mount Royal, and an
active member of the Mount
Royal United Church.
A
graduate of Concordia
University with a Bachelor
of Commerce degree, John
Miller is a former member of
the management team at Bell
Canada, specializing in
strategic planning and
financial management. His
professional experience and
his long community
involvement allow John
Miller to make a major
contribution to Council,
especially in the areas of
finance and sound
administration of our city.

Philippe Roy
Philippe Roy is a lawyer and
works in public affairs. He
has always been interested
in politics and community
life, and upon arriving in
the Town of Mount Royal with
his young family he was
elected as municipal
councillor.
Father
of three young children for
whom he intended to ensure a
healthy and dynamic
environment, his last
mandate at City Hall saw him
Chair of the Environment and
Sustainable Development
Advisory Committee in
addition to assuming a role
as spokesperson for young
families in the Town. If
elected, Philippe Roy would
continue as spokesperson for
young families and pursue
the application of the
ambitious Sustainable
Development Plan adopted in
2007.
